NFCC Gives and Gives

North Fulton Community Charities’ (NFCC) annual holiday assistance program served over 900 families and 1,800 children this year. The holiday assistance program began with Warm Coat Day followed by a Thanksgiving Food Program, a Sponsored Families Program and Santa Shop. Holiday Baskets were also provided to local senior residents in November and December. This year almost 1,400 individuals volunteered for the holiday assistance program. The volunteers did everything from set up and clean up to helping families shop for toys and carry groceries. Many more volunteers organized food and toy drives throughout the area. “I have seen how NFCC has helped the community for many, many years,” says Cheryl Brown, longtime resident and NFCC volunteer. “I love my community and I volunteer because I care about the welfare of others and want to contribute to making a difference in their lives. Please know the significant impact Lifestyle Publications has made to make a difference in the lives of others.” The NFCC holiday program was sponsored by Malon D. Mimms, DataScan and UPS.

Ovarian Cancer Alliance Gala

The Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance celebrates its ninth annual Shaken, Not Stirred Gala with a new date and venue this year.  The Southeast’s premier ovarian cancer awareness event will mark its debut at the Georgia Aquarium on February 9.  Guests can expect the same first-class evening of celebration with specialty cocktails, dinner created by Les Dames d’Escoffier International – Atlanta Chapter Chefs, dancing, casino games, tributes and auctions.  11Alive’s Christine Pullara will serve as emcee at the event, and the Celebrity All Star Band will provide live entertainment.
