Like some Q? Organizers behind the Atlanta Kosher BBQ Festival are preparing to roll out the 2018 event at a new location and introduce a new food category for its followers to savor. The 6th annual event will be held Oct. 21 at City Springs in downtown Sandy Springs.The community-wide event is presented by The Hebrew Order of David International, the Atlanta Jewish Times, and Balloons Over Atlanta. The Jewish Educational Loan Fund is the main charitable organization involved with this year’s event. Awards will be given to top tastes. A panel of experts will judge the competition, but everyone who attends can purchase samples and decide for themselves who makes the best brisket, ribs, chicken and chili.

Chamber Changes

The Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce announced two internal promotions. Robin Buckley (pictured) moves to Executive Director – Member Services and Small Business Resource Center.  Previously Manager of Member Services and Small Business Resource Center, Buckley joined the Chamber in 2012.  She brings her prior experience as a small business owner and a past Chamber member to the position.  Laura Houston is the new Executive Director, Marketing. Houston will now direct and oversea strategic marketing operations, alliances and member engagement for the Chamber.

Fermented now open

Fermented owner Adam Danielson fell in love with family wineries that produce authentic terroir-driven wines. He created this store as a platform to promote these wineries, just opened on Canton Street in the heart of Alpharetta, offering an extensive selection of wines displayed in a fabulous space. Atlanta Polo Brunch Festival October 14

The fundraising excitement continues with polo, cocktails, and music, at the “Best Brunch Bite” contest.  Gather your group of friends and enjoy an afternoon of cocktails and bites on the banks of the Chattahoochee.  Sunday’s Atlanta Polo Brunch Festival is a unique culinary experience hosted by Polo in the Pines Ambassador Lara Lyn Carter.  The 2018 Polo in the Pines proceeds are dedicated specifically to pediatric brain cancer research at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in honor of this year’s honoree, Caroline Brewer, who is in treatment at Children’s.
