Prostate Screening at Northside

Northside Hospital Cancer Institute is offering a community screening to determine men’s risk for developing prostate cancer on Thursday, August 23, 5:30-8 p.m. at Northside/Alpharetta Medical Campus, 3400 Old Milton Parkway, Building A, Suite 130. Eligibility: men, ages 45-75 with no prior diagnosis of prostate cancer, no prostate exam within the past year. Screenings are administered by health care professionals and consist of a prostate-specific antigen (PSA) blood test. Men are encouraged to make an informed decision with their health care provider regarding the appropriateness of prostate cancer screening.

Originally from Jamestown, NY,  she is a graduate from the Medical College of Georgia and has worked in the dental field for 20 years, practicing in Alpharetta for 15 years.  She lives in Johns Creek with her husband David and son Landon.  Pam Rice has been in the dental field for 15 years. She is a 20-year resident of Duluth where she lives with her husband of 27 years.

Scholars Honored

The National Merit Scholarship Corporation announced that 16 recent Fulton County graduates have been named National Merit Scholars of the 3,500 winners nationally. In addition to the prestigious National Merit Scholar distinction, these 2018 seniors earned National Merit scholarships from participating colleges and universities. These awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship.
