Belmont Summer Concerts

Summer is coming and Belmont Village Senior Living is celebrating from start to finish with a Summer Concert Series for friends and neighbors. This year marks Belmont Village’s 13th in the Atlanta area and they want to show their appreciation for the welcome, support and friendship experienced over the years. Join Belmont first from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 13, on the lawn of Belmont Village Buckhead for Songs at Sunset, featuring Dusty’s Ragtime Band. Johns Creek Convention and Visitors Bureau (JCCVB) Chairwoman, Lynda Lee Smith participated in a global panel conversation recently, presented by Urban Catalyst Lab (UCL) and the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs. UCL and the Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs have partnered to celebrate and explore the role of art in building urban resilience and sustainability. The ​discussion explored how art, policy and change align to achieve a sustainable and resilient urban future. Smith shared insight from JCCVB’s latest Tourism Product Development project “The Johns Creek Tunnel,” a result of collaboration between the JCCVB, City of Johns Creek, Georgia Department of Transportation, UCL, artists Kureshi and William Massey; and countless volunteers from the Johns Creek Arts community.

Free Dentist Work

Jones Bridge Dental Care will be hosting its 11th annual Free Dentistry Day at 7 a.m. on Saturday, June 23. The event will be held at 11925 Jones Bridge Rd and will be providing no-cost service to more than 250 deserving people who are in need of dental treatment, but do not have the means get it. Dental volunteers will provide examinations, digital X-rays, blood pressure and oral cancer screenings, and a choice of an extraction, filling, or cleaning procedures. The high demand event, also known as Dentistry from the Heart, will be under the supervision and instruction of Dr. Leo Yelizarov-Eliezer, Dr. Malikov, and Dr. Nasseh. Patients will be taken on a first come first serve basis starting at 7 a.m. (one procedure per person). Early arrival is suggested, and there is no pre-registration.
