Supporting the Hungry

The 11th annual Give Me Five dinner on Sunday, August 27, at the Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek will feature Georgia’s premier chefs and sommeliers to benefit Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry Campaign. The exclusive event includes a five-course dinner prepared by top local chefs paired with fine wines selected by a handful of the city’s most notable sommeliers. All 100% of the proceeds will benefit the work of Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign to end childhood hunger in America. This year’s highly anticipated dinner will feature Chef Chair Master Chef Daryl Shular (Atlanta Athletic Club) along with Morey Anderson (Atlanta Athletic Club), Christian Castillo (Atlas Restaurant), Charlie Hatney (Charlie Hatney & Co.), Aaron Masanotti (The Merion) and Todd Richards (Richards’ Southern Fried). Guests will also enjoy wine pairings by five Atlanta sommeliers, including Sommelier Chair Gil Kulers (Piedmont Driving Club), Jacob Gragg (Cru Artisan Wines), Andres Loaiza (Aria), Chris Lodge (Atlas Restaurant) and Maggie Meroney (Capital City Club). Each extraordinary course will be accompanied by commentary from the features chefs and sommeliers. In addition to the five-course dinner, guests will enjoy live and silent auctions featuring a variety of luxury items and experiences, including private cooking classes, lavish cocktail parties, fine wines and intimate in-home chef dinners. Admission is $275 per person and $2,500 for a table of ten. 

Sneak a Peek

Back by popular demand, the Milton Tour of Homes will once again offer an exclusive tour featuring five “classically Milton” homes – this year’s homes will be decorated for the fall. The Tour is October 21 – 22 with two tours each day. The private residences on the tour will be kept secret and unveiled on the tour days which will provide an element of anticipation and surprise for the ticket holders. Tickets will go on sale in late summer/early fall and are $35 each. Access to the homes is only available through the luxury bus transportation provided. Sponsors for the Tour will receive complimentary tour tickets and the opportunity to attend a VIP event at a beautiful Milton estate the evening prior to the Tour. The money raised from the Tour will benefit the Friends of the Milton Library programs and capital items.

Braves Babies

Every baby born at Northside Hospital is being welcomed with an “Atlanta Braves” beanie and Braves Country birth certificate. The Born a Brave program is part of the Atlanta Braves and Northside Hospital partnership at SunTrust Park. AIS Student Honored

Naya Valdivieso-Wooldridge has been named a State Merit Winner of the landmark 10th annual Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge, the nation’s premier science competition for students grades 5-8.  An 8th grade student at the Atlanta International School, Naya is being recognized for her submission on Electrical Mineral Accretion in Coral Reefs Discovery Education. She was chosen as one of only 35 state merit winners nationwide for developing an innovative solution to an everyday problem that could ultimately improve and reshape the way we live our lives.
