A Mysterious Party

Rachel Turner loves a good mystery. She enjoyed bringing intrigue and murder recently to the members of the Johns Creek Women’s Club recently, asking luncheon attendees to solve a murder…after lunch, of course. Her company, Make it a Mystery has been providing customized murder mystery parties and plays to the Atlanta area for over 19 years. They have customized parties for churches, corporate events, civic organizations, birthday parties, youth events and even apartment complexes. They have worked with groups of 8 to groups of 140, carefully crafting events that are tailored to the group, the venue, time frame and of course the budget. Rachel works with you to produce an event that your group will be talking about for years to come! Call them to plan something different for your next group meeting with a hilarious whodunit and find out just how well you know the people in your circles. Call Rachel Turner, 404.285.1876

Each home on the tour has been carefully selected to represent the City of Milton – some are newer homes and one is a historical home. Robert Meyers, is chair of the Milton Holiday Tour of Homes committee. Meyers is well known in the Milton community for authoring two books about the area including Barns of Old Milton County. He also is a board member of the Friends of the Milton Library. “We’re overjoyed at the response of the community for this tour,” said Meyers. “We sold out of our tickets much faster than expected and hope to expand our tour next year.” Funds will benefit the Friends of the Milton Library, STEM and STEAM programs, Lego Club, Astronomy Club program supplies, chess boards and timers, Teen Advisory Board meetings, Youth Book Club, Wildlife Program, Children’s Music Performance, Atlanta Audubon Youth programs, Summer Reading, and others. At press time, tickets were SOLD OUT.

Rest and Unwind

With Thanksgiving barely behind us, and Christmas steadily approaching we are in the height of the holiday chaos!  During this time we can all start to feel depleted and worn down by a mile-long to-do list and calendars full of holiday engagements.  Thankfully our friends at Johns Creek Yoga are here to help bring us back some inner peace! Join some of our Johns Creek Lifestyle staff and studio owner, Sheila McVay (pictured), from 7-9 p.m. on December 21,  the night of the Winter Solstice, for an evening of Yoga and Live Music. Amidst the business of the season, take time to rest and nurture yourself. You will be mindfully guided through Gentle, Restorative poses surrounded by candles and boughs of fresh evergreen before drifting into meditation surrounded by beautiful live music. The class is appropriate for all ages, body types and levels of yoga practitioners, even absolute beginners. Even if you have never done yoga before, don’t miss this opportunity to reset and honor the rhythms of nature by turning your attention inward and away from outside stresses.
